Description
Ngerman is a dialect of the language german. Dialects of a language have to be mapped to the language to work with glossaries.
Makeglossaries contains such mappings for the dialects germanb
and ngermanb
, while ngerman
is missing. This is the reason why ngerman
is not working with glossaries.
MWE:
\documentclass[ngerman]{article} \usepackage{babel} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage[xindy]{glossaries} \GlsSetXdyCodePage{din5007-utf8} \makeglossaries \newglossaryentry{Begriff}{name={Begriff}, description={Ein Begriff}} \glsaddall \begin{document} \printglossary \end{document}This is a modified version of the mwe in: xindy can't find module for language german

Solution
The script makeglossaries has to be modified. A mapping of ngerman to ngerman can be added, as a possible solution.
... # v2.07: added babel dialect -> xindy language map: my %languagemap = ( 'american' => 'english', 'austrian' => 'german', 'british' => 'english', 'francais' => 'french', 'frenchb' => 'french', 'germanb' => 'german', 'lsorbian' => 'lower-sorbian', 'magyar' => 'hungarian', 'naustrian' => 'german', 'ngerman' => 'german', 'ngermanb' => 'german', 'norsk' => 'norwegian', 'portuges' => 'portuguese', 'russianb' => 'russian', 'slovene' => 'slovenian', 'UKenglish' => 'english', 'USenglish' => 'english', 'ukraineb' => 'ukrainian', 'usorbian' => 'upper-sorbian' ); ...

Evaluation
Fixed in makeglossaries version 2.16 (glossaries version 4.16).
