Description

Ngerman is a dialect of the language german. Dialects of a language have to be mapped to the language to work with glossaries.

Makeglossaries contains such mappings for the dialects germanb and ngermanb, while ngerman is missing. This is the reason why ngerman is not working with glossaries.

MWE:

\documentclass[ngerman]{article}

\usepackage{babel}

\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}

\usepackage[xindy]{glossaries}

\GlsSetXdyCodePage{din5007-utf8}

\makeglossaries

\newglossaryentry{Begriff}{name={Begriff}, description={Ein Begriff}}

\glsaddall

\begin{document}

\printglossary

\end{document}
This is a modified version of the mwe in: xindy can't find module for language german

Issue

The issue can be reproduced by invoking:
makeglossaries mwe

Solution

The script makeglossaries has to be modified. A mapping of ngerman to ngerman can be added, as a possible solution.

...
# v2.07: added babel dialect -> xindy language map:
my %languagemap =
(

  'austrian'  => 'german',
  'british'   => 'english',
